Tinker & Petey's Big Adventure
July 21
Destination: San Francisco
The Plan: Hang out in Santa Clara for the day, then head into San Francisco for dinner and more cheesy tourist photos
What we did: Today we hung out in the morning. Did some additional stuff on the internet, played a little Diablo II...R&R.

Got together with another Vertel investor, Art Rahmann, at a Japanese restaurant for lunch and discussed the state of affairs in our investment.

Next, we all headed into San Francisco for dinner. The traffic into San Francisco was pleasantly and uncharacteristically light. We drove around trying to find someplace for dinner. We settled on Italian food and stopped at Fior D'Italia on Union Street. They claimed that it was the oldest Italian restaurant in the U.S. I kind of find it hard to believe, with Boston's Italian District and New York, but it was a wonderful restaurant. Italian, family style, with a greeter, waiters in tuxes, etc. The food was really good too!

Next, Terry took us down to Fort Point to get another picture of the Golden Gate bridge, Alcatraz and the city. We decided to find someplace for dessert. By this time, most restaurants were pretty busy so we drove around for awhile and then headed back towards Santa Clara.

On the way home, Terry thought it might be interesting to go to Buck's Restaurant. A place that has been written up in local publications as one of the places where big Venture Capital and company deals are inked. We split a great banana split. I really liked the atmosphere of Bucks as well as the atmosphere of Woodside.

Got home and it was time to crash.
