Tinker & Petey's Big Adventure
July 18
Destination: Santa Clara, CA
The Plan: Hook up with my friend Terry Jansen and hang in Santa Clara!
What we did: Don't know, but I'm sure it had something to do with Terry Jansen and Santa Clara! WRONG!

Hung out with the crew from Felton/Santa Cruz for another day! Terry J. is in the middle of a hot hot project...and didn't mind that I postponed meeting up with her for one more day. It was a beautiful morning. A perfect day to go to....DOG BEACH!!!!! Yes, that's right...Santa Cruz et al love their doggies! We were supposed to meet Judith's good friend Kris down at the beach around 8:30. Of course we got caught in traffic. Why should Southern California be the only area blessed with traffic congestion?

Finally met up with Kris and her buddy Jimmy. Jimmy is a big dog, just like Sparky...a cross between an Alaskan Malamute and a Golden Lab. Today, Tinker and Petey were gonna run with the Big Dawgs again. Kris is as much into her dog as Judith and Tom are into their dogs, as I am into Tinker and Petey.

This beach in Santa Cruz was smaller than San Diego's and the water was much colder. Today's beach offered a different personality...cliffs and sea lions! Yep, sea lions. We did the usual...chase dogs, get chased by dogs, sniff dogs, get sniffed by dogs...you get the picture. Dogs are pretty much dogs, all over the place.

There was a large rock a short distance from shore...with 4 sea lions sitting atop the rock...hooting and hollering away. A while later, we got an additional treat. A female sea lion had come ashore and beached herself. I was able to get a few shots of her swimming as well as onshore. I missed the best picture because I was out of storage space on the digital camera. She was in a pretty pose on her front fins/legs/paws (???) with her head proudly in the air. Very neat...but missed the picture. I was able to get about 20 feet away.

We ran around the beach a while longer...then it was time to go off and have breakfast. But not until a couple of surfers met Tinker and Petey! They commented..."They're pretty heavy!" Well, now that the Northern California Surfing Community has weighed in on the dogs, and it is favorable!, we are only a couple of steps away from a wildly successful roadtrip!

Hung out with Tom doing errands for awhile after breakfast. Had a bit of time to kill before going to a movie. Off we were to give the dogs a bath...Once again...Squeaky Clean Dogs! Three days of dirt and gunk from romping in the woods and on the beach were washed away! Also took a couple of pictures of a starter home for sale...$276,000. The picture is below!

Next we (Tom, Judith, Me) raced off to see "Croupier"...a British flick with an interesting story with some interesting twists. Too bad Kris missed the movie. She was off fighting homeowner battles after a vacation in Italy with her family.

Tom and Judith cashed it in early...and of course, I was left to update the website!

I forgot to mention something some days ago. When Tom Tierney and I went to Fry's in San Diego, I found out that Diablo II has finally been released. So all of you Diablo lovers...Diablo II is available! I spent a few minutes checking it out before website time. Looks pretty good!

After the website...the Browndoggerz crashed...debating whether we could postpone our departure another half day...to join Kris and Jimmy down by Dog Beach. We'll take a vote in the morning!
