Tinker & Petey's Big Adventure
July 17
Destination: Felton, CA
The Plan: Hang out with Tom and Judith and the dogs in the Redwood forests
What we did: Woke up bright and early...this seems to be the standard start to our day...however, crash again, we did for another hour. Tom, wife Judith and kids Caleb and Emily also slept in too. We finally awoke to Tom and Judith's new puppy Hugo, the rat dog, when he hopped up on top of us and started to play.

Judith gave me a tour of the awesome garden that they have all over their front and back yards. They have many native flowers, shrubs...grow many vegetables and almost all of the spices and herbs they use to cook. It is an awesome garden...I was impressed that Judith knew all of the plants there. The garden is both Tom's and Judith's project.

Next, I hit the couch for a quick nap...as Judith was baking pies and making applesauce from apples off the trees in the back yard. Next...Dog Heaven again! Back to the redwoods in the Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park. We took some different trails this time. Dogs had to be on the leashes (well most of the time). I took some pictures...inadequate at best, of some of the redwood trees. They are really impressive. Tinker and Petey were once again...model dogs. If I can only get them to listen at home.

Back home...got ready to go out to dinner at the El Palomar. A nice Mexican restaurant in downtown Santa Cruz. Good dinner, good company!

Then back home to Felton and bit of web work...
