| Tinker & Petey's Big Adventure |
| July 10 |
| Destination: | San Diego, CA |
| The Plan: | Make sure I get in contact with Tom Tierney. Maybe hang out at Dog Beach...let Tinker and Petey see and taste the ocean. And whatever else tickles our fancy! |
| What we did: | The day started out slow. I stayed up till 4:00 AM
Pacific Time updating the site. Had to get it done, or it would have piled up too much. Didn't have much to do in the AM...just hang until Dave came home
early from work, to celebrate Chasity's 20th birthday. Had a nice cookout, birthday cake and ice cream. Next it was off to the San Diego airport to get Chastity back to Mesa, AZ. The Road Warriors were not making it back that way during the adventure, so Chasity had to make other arrangements to return home No problem getting to the airport. I love to drive in California...unless the traffic is completely stopped (like it often is). You can drive aggressively and fit right in with the locals! Next we were off to Dog Beach...at the northern part of Ocean Beach. Dog Beach is, simply put, dog heaven! 24 hours a day, no leash required. We had Tinker and Petey...and Dave's two dogs, Shelby and Mammie. What a fun time. There were many many dogs at Dog Beach and for the most part all of the dogs were very well behaved. I think that this is because the dogs who were there, were all well socialized when they were younger. Dogs of every size, shape and color were there. Most were larger breeds. It was a doggie free-for-all! I don't remember seeing any dogs smaller than Tinker or Petey. This was the first time that Tinker and Petey were at the ocean. Of course they tried to take drinks from the water. Tinker's reaction was priceless..but happened too quick to get a picture... she basically had a sneezing coughing spitting fit. I knew she would try to drink from the water...so I expected something like that...just didn't have the camera ready. She was also burrowing into the sand with her snout...it was pretty outrageous. I suspect we'll be clearing sand out of her nose for the next few weeks. Petey had fun too...although he is usually not as brave as Tinker. Most of the time, he stayed close by. Dog Beach is so cool. We'll spend a few more hours there before we leave the San Diego area. Remember this is Tinker and Petey's Big Adventure! I had talked with Tom Tierney (T) earlier in the day...and so we planned on getting together tomorrow to take sledgehammers to one or both of his Cable Co./ISP or the phone company. You may read about us in the news soon. From what Tom says...they really deserve it. I need to get up early to get us a couple of sledgehammers. That's it for now...off to bed...got a busy day of sledgehammering to do tomorrow! |
